Mindy Mason, the creator and director of Etiquette Handbags & Wallets works from this desk in her Australian office, where all of the companies collections are designed. Etiquette handbags are an eclectic lifestyle accessory brand that is defined by its creative designer and founder. Mindy was educated in Australia and spent the years after university, travelling throughout Europe. It was here that she discovered her talents in designing key looks for photographic advertising jobs that took her to all corners of the globe. Her talents became obvious to all around her as she travelled on fashion shoots from Paris to New York.
Having been successful in Europe, Mindy returned to her native Australia and settled into design. Going against the minimalist trend that was popular at the time, Mindy created the Spencer and Rutherford brand, named after her parents, and pioneered a look of unique fabric and leather combinations in fashion handbag shapes. Big glossy magazines named her “a new star on the horizon” and acknowledged her as a leading handbag designer, when she designed the Sydney 2000 Olympic teams handbag. Mindy launched Etiquette in 2002 and continued her dream of producing the perfect handbag, which now includes fabulous wallets in all collections. “I am inspired by art, film, architecture and a world of interior design in color and shape. I am constantly inspired by my love of a traditional floral fabric”. Each season’s new collection is modern with a twist to suit every occasion using only the ingredient of quality, grace and style. An Etiquette handbag has never been about necessity. It is a portable fashion object, a faithful companion, and a keeper of all women’s secrets.
Today, the Etiquette brand is showcased in five national showrooms across Australia and sold into 200 retailers around the country. Mindy attributes the company’s success to her team at Etiquette Handbags. The Etiquette Head Office is located in Melbourne, and is the home of the fashionable Etiquette crew.
