FABRIC CARE

Etiquette fabrics that are used in our designs are selected not only for their lovely design aesthetics, but also for their amazing durability and resilience, as many selected are upholstery fabrics. Please treat these fabrics with care to extend the life of your bag. Etiquette recommends that each handbag and wallet should be lightly sprayed with Scotchguard before use. This will help repeal dirt and offer added protection against water and potential staining. Please always rescue your handbag or wallet from perfumes at all times.

Cleaning - For removing the most common stains, we recommend cleaning with warm water and mild soap on a clean cloth and never dry in the sun. Carpet cleaning sprays can be used successfully for troublesome stains however follow instructions on the can. Please be certain to thoroughly test an inconspicuous area before actual stain removal to avoid uncontrollable variations in material reaction. Do not Dry Clean.

Do you know our insider tip? A helpful industry 'secret' for spot removal of oil based stains, for example, biro marks on fabric (!!!) is by the application of a conventional hair spray and remove with a gentle rub. We advise to carefully spot clean after the application with cool plain water as the area can dry hard without it.

LEATHER CARE

Each fine leather used in the design of Etiquette Handbags & Wallets is carefully selected for its colour, texture, durability, and beauty. Leather is a natural material and therefore inconsistency in colour and texture is a unique characteristic of our product. Animals are subject to a wide variety of factors in their natural environment that leave indelible marks on their hides. As these marks have healed on the animal, they do not affect the durability of the leather, but rather enhance its individuality. It is not considered a flaw or fault if these inconsistencies appear from time to time. Leather is designed to age with wear. Remember that leather is a natural material and should never be stored in plastic because it encourages the growth of mildew and bacteria and will ruin the leather. Always store leather in a cool, dry place away from heat - we encourage you too use our cotton dust bag we supply for storage.

Cleaning - Fresh stains from things such as blood and food can be cleaned up quickly with a damp cloth. Stains from oil or grease can be lifted by grinding ordinary blackboard chalk, sprinkling the area, and leaving the powder on for a twenty-four hour period. Resist the urge to rub the powder in. After a sufficient time has past, simply use a leather care brush to remove the powder. While fresh stains can be treated and cleaned at home, a professional cleaner who deals in leather should attend to ground-in stains.

So be assured wearing an Etiquette handbag or wallet made from finest quality fabric in a unique combination with quality leather will be long lasting and reliable. Trust us - we have been wearing them for years! Do not be afraid to wear our product everyday. They look and feel better over time. We do ask you to treat your product with respect and care - in the same way as a favorite pair of shoes or coat.
